6. Peanut Products Recall of 2007-08

This recall was more of a scandal because it was discovered that, for two years, the company knowingly marketed peanut products contaminated by salmonella virulent strain. This led to the death of 8 people and over 600 fell sick. The company had to recall over 3200 products. In 2009, Peanut Corporation of America filed for bankruptcy.
