This was a recall that sent shivers down the spines of pet owners. About 14 dogs and cats died after consuming Menu Foods’ pet food, which showed the presence of melamine, a chemical that doctors link to kidney failure. Menu Foods recalled around 60 million cans and packets of their pet food.
