3. Cable Resistance Machines
Running isn’t a best way to lose weight, weight training usually is. When your body is in motion, it has 2 states of energy production – aerobic and anaerobic. Running and swimming are aerobic exercise, and require mostly oxygen to carry out the motion because it’s something that’s low-intensity and high-repetition. Sprinting or lifting heavy weights put your body in an anaerobic state. This means that your body is relying mainly on glycogen to produce energy. Glycogen is the storage form of glucose (sugar) and represents most of what makes up belly fat. Resistance machines are useful because you can do isolated movements at a higher weight than you might be able to with a bar or dumbbell. As such, you can jack the weight up and really utilize your glycogen stores.
